Title: Number Of Times Per Day/week/month
Post by: justinj on August 29, 2005, 03:22:26 AM
One case I would like to use Consistency for is tracking exercising.  My schedule is such that I want to perform an exercise a certain number of times per week, such as walking 45 minutes a day 3 days a week.  Would it be difficult to add this feature?

Thanks for your suggestion. I would have to think about the right way to implement such a feature. Sciral Consistency was designed more from the philosophical view that the body (for example) needs a certain amount of recovery time between workouts. Sciral Consistency still leaves it up to you to manage those intervals within calendar periods such as weeks or months.

Right now I would simply create a "Walk 45 minutes" task and set a target range of say, 2-3 days. Then if I waited the maximum amount of time without letting the task become overdue, I would have walked 3 times in a seven-day period. I would still have to use a little judgement to decide what days to take off and what days to work out, but at least Sciral Consistency will help keep me from doing the task too frequently, and it will definitely start nagging me if I don't do it enough.
