16  Sciral / Sciral Consistency Q&A / Re: Events in the distant future? on: November 27, 2007, 11:50:34 PM
Wow, that's thinking ahead Smiley

I have reproduced that bug. It should be fixed in the next update.

There is a new version of Consistency for Windows (1.1.5) that fixes the problem with German 'umlauts'.

The issue with the 'look' of the program will have to wait for a later release.
19  Sciral / Sciral Consistency Q&A / Re: Licensing/Mac + Win Bundle on: October 31, 2007, 07:46:20 PM
We could fill the upper-left corner with something like... oh... ads. Joke, joke!

I have duplicated the problem with ,,,. That's mighty odd, given that additional spaces are not added if the doc is saved again. I will look into it.

I will see what I can to do to make the fonts look better. It might simply be that Arial (the font being used) would look better if it was slightly bigger or bolder.

Which Windows OS are you running Consistency under? Can you be more specific about the problem with the fonts, both in program and in the help files? Do you not like the particular fonts or some quality of the fonts?
21  Sciral / Sciral Consistency Q&A / Re: Showing day and date on top line? on: September 28, 2007, 09:54:08 AM
I'm the Windows programmer of Consistency. No one has reported this problem before, so I will need to look into it.
22  Sciral / News and Announcements / Sciral Consistency 1.1.3 for Windows on: October 01, 2006, 02:19:08 PM
A new version of Sciral Consistency for Windows is available. Version 1.1.3 has the following bug fixes:

Change Start Date: When trying to change the start date of a task and selecting OK without altering the date, the program would set the start date to a random date (most likely in the far future). Now the program will properly leave the start date alone.

Startup Documents: If there were any documents marked to be loaded at program startup and all those documents were renamed or deleted, the program would fail to start. Now the program will start with an empty document in this case.

Auto-save: If the preference to auto-save documents is enabled, the program might still ask the user if a document should be saved when the computer is shutdown or restarted. The program will now just auto-save and exit.

There are no new features.
23  Sciral / Sciral Consistency Q&A / Re: Features you get for Registering on: September 22, 2006, 06:05:26 PM
The trial version only allows five tasks per document and two documents to be open at one time. The registered version has no task or document restrictions (and the pesky dialog box that opens at start-up no longer appears).
24  Sciral / News and Announcements / Sciral Consistency For Windows Update on: December 14, 2005, 04:17:44 PM
A new version of Sciral Consistency for Windows is now available. Version 1.1.2 has the following bug fixes and new features:

Bug Fixes

There was a bug in sorting tasks by name where the sorting was performed in ASCII order. Now the sorting is properly done in the correct collating order for the current language.

Window positioning information in saved documents was incompatible between the Windows and Macintosh versions. This has been fixed.

The program could hang if a document was double-clicked to start the program AND that document would have been automatically opened at start-up. The problem is resolved.

If a window was minimized, maximized or restored and the task list was scrolled, the task list would not be drawn scrolled. The task list is now drawn correctly in these cases.

New Features

Tooltips now appear over task names showing the full name (in case it was too long to display) and the number of days left before the task is overdue.

In addition to the "Open documents that were open last time you quit" Preferences setting, there is now a sub-setting to indicate "Also open last document closed in previous session." This makes the program more compatible with how many Windows users close applications.

The program remembers if a window was maximized the last time it was open.

A small window opens at the start of the program showing the current version number.

Note that all these features are only in this new Windows version, although some may be added to a future Mac version.

25  Sciral / Sciral Consistency Q&A / Target Day Range Error In Ver. 1.1 For Windows on: August 16, 2005, 03:33:44 PM
There is an update (version 1.1.1) that corrects this problem. See the Sciral download page.
26  Sciral / Sciral Consistency Feature Requests / Auto-start And Connecting To Other Programds on: July 08, 2005, 01:31:39 PM
The latest version of Consistency for Windows (1.1) can remember which documents were open when you last quit the program and automatically open those documents the next time the application starts. So to create your "ticker file" just put a shortcut to Consistency in the StartUp folder under Programs in the Start menu, enable the Preferences option (which is on by default) and then make sure that you always choose Ctrl-Q to quit Consistency.

A upcoming bug fix release of Consistency for Windows (1.1.1) will include the option of remembering the last closed window also, for those that tend to exit Consitency by closing the last window.

Pop-up alerts and Outlook integration is on our list of future enhancements.

Are you refering to the Windows version? There is a list of open documents in the Window menu.

29  Sciral / General Discussion / Introduce Yourself! on: December 10, 2004, 08:53:33 PM
I am the aforementioned Joe Pearce, the programmer of the Windows version of Consistency.

I run a small game publishing company, but I also take on contracting and consulting work that meets my skills and interests.

Even through I am older than Robert, he has been a professional programmer longer than I have Smiley
